Proposal: “DataCrypt” — Client-Side File Encryption WebApp

Overview
Sensitive digital assets—documents, images, audio, video—are frequently exposed to unauthorized access when transmitted or stored on third-party platforms. We propose “DataCrypt,” a web application that empowers each user to encrypt and decrypt their own files using keys that only they control. Because all cryptographic operations occur in the browser, the server never sees unencrypted data or user keys, ensuring true zero-knowledge security.

1. Problem Statement

• Data Exposure Risk: Personal and corporate files traverse networks and cloud storage, often protected only by server-side controls or shared master keys.
• Lack of User Control: Many solutions manage encryption keys on behalf of users, introducing potential insider or third-party risk.
• Compliance & Privacy: Regulations (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.) demand demonstrable end-to-end data protection and user key ownership.

2. Proposed Solution

“DataCrypt” WebApp implements client-side cryptography so that:

1. Users generate and manage their own keys (password-derived symmetric keys or asymmetric key-pairs).
2. All encryption/decryption executes in the browser via the Web Crypto API—no plaintext or keys ever leave the client.
3. Encrypted file blobs are stored on our server; without the user’s key, they remain inaccessible.

• Database: MongoDB (file metadata, user profiles—no plaintext)
• Deployment: Vercel (frontend), AWS/GCP (backend API)

• Zero-Knowledge Server: All cryptographic operations in-browser; server stores only ciphertext.
• Strong Key Derivation: Argon2 with high iteration counts and per-user salts.
• Authenticated Encryption: AES-GCM ensures confidentiality and integrity.
• Secure Defaults: Enforce HTTPS, strict CORS, secure random IVs/nonces.

I have a random idea and maybe this idea sounds crazy.

The idea is to build a spiking neural network(SNN) requiring only one cycle on each batch iteration.

Imagine if a neural network only needs to update its weights in just 1 cycle; very fast, right?

The sub idea is to use memristor as a control to self updating its weight automatically in just 1 cycle. The problem is, memristor has no mechanism to lock its resistance.

Moreover, if conventional processors can be interfaced to these devices, AI could potentially be capable of complex thinking, with the help of conventional processor acceleration. Remember that conventional processors have high accuracy making their potential not only speed, but also accuracy.

This is just my random idea. I don't even know how to start, and I don't even have enough background knowledge in AI engineering.

Few words about ImGUI and how I came to this project
ImGUI is a Bloat-free UI framework which lacks elegance by default, but allows you to effectively build an application UI. I tried that and I liked the idea.
Ever heard of Emscripten? It's a great compiler that allows running C/C++ code in your browser. Even more, there's a lot of cool stuff ported to Emscripten, including graphics libraries and UI frameworks. So, you can actually create a web application using Emscripten and it will utilize WASM and use WebGL to draw your few buttons, which sounded crazy enough to me, so I decided to give it a try. I almost liked the result.
Problem
ImGUI web version doesn't support an on-screen keyboard for mobile devices, so the worst way to fix that was by creating a virtual keyboard for ImGUI. And that's what I did.
How is that different from what we have now for ImGUI
There are a few other open-source OSK solutions for ImGUI, but they are non-customizable, complex or don't look like ass modern.
So I decided to create my own solution which is in this repo above. It is not 100% ready but looks mobile enough, can be used to type text in your language if you add it,that's relatively easy. After some development this project may become coolest OSK solution for ImGUI.

As this project is not my number #1 priority you can consider it abandoned
