Mint don't provide any pre-built package. So your only option is compile and install it yourself. No discord but there is matrix and telegram. |

@shahmir-k There are no pre-built binary packages for Linux Mint yet, but you can have a look at Welcome to XLibre on Other Distributions! · X11Libre · Discussion #212 for what to do. Do you have the confidence to compile XLibre yourself? |

the short version is that it will be difficult if not impossible on Linux Mint 22 or LMDE6, but will be doable on LMDE7, as Debian 13 upgrades a key package that meson requires while anything based on Debian 12 or ubuntu 24.04 LTS will have a too old version of that package. you'll need to run this to ensure you have all the dependencies you need for Debian 13, and LMDE7 when it comes out, at which point Xlibre will compile and install: |

Hi I would like to start contributing to xlibre. I have over 10 years of C programming experience but I am new to developing for linux. I would like to start by running xlibre on my linux mint install instead of xorg, and then pushing whatever bugfixes I manage to get done. Does anyone have any experience doing this to help point me in the right direction? Also is there a discord for xlibre?
