Concern about "selective inclusion/wokeness"

The new readme kinda look like "woke-like" and seem to me that trans or other 2slgbtqa++ people are more welcome than "normal" people. Plus this make no sense as the project is supposed to be ant-dei. But i see also selective as this project seem to be against neurodiversity inclusion while promoting leftist ideoloige like keeping communism post but threatening my post that were apolitical as political.. and they do no want any coc (#157). A other issue is that I already have ableism response in #104.

and also there is a "double standard" (a comment about pro-marxism and anti-democracy view was not banned while my anti-politcial post was view as political and i could get banned for that ...) in moderation on that discusion : #231

then why i see you are welcome with i see a lot of lgtq++++ trans flag in the new readme ??? for me this mean wokeness/DEI like and that mean "cis" people (i hate that label but i have sometime no choice to use it) are not welcome or at least discriminated caused we are being "privileged" (a other term i do not like)... this is just not true...

the readme only explicitly showw the lgtq++++ progress pride and a trans flag + gay reference (which could defenely alienate people like me) ... so not it is not explicitly everybody not everybody is lgtq++++ at least my brain cannot interprete like this way with the way it is currently showed. plus a software project should not care about your ideological/political belief, gender identity or sexual orientation is the problem i have .... if they do or only show only a part of diversity like "gender identity" or show multiple lgbtq++ flag (espcially while claiming they are apolitcial and doesnt want to include neurodiversity but only thes other colorful flag that could affect my mental health stability) ... , i found it woke (and so in my danger zone)....

and no i am not attacking anyone i am just showing my concern and my limit on ideological war to avoid making my existing trauma deeper, my cognitive dissonance worse and other similar stuff.

In my honest opinion, a software project — especially one that is not related to identity or activism — should avoid including political or ideological symbols like pride or trans flags in the README.

When I see those flags, my autistic brain processes it not as “inclusion for all” but as “this project is for these identities, and if you don’t fully align with them, your beliefs are unwelcome.”

I know that may not be the intention, but the effect is real for me — and likely for others too.

I’m asking for neutrality — not erasure of anyone. If we don’t include symbols for all types of diversity (including neurodivergence, ideological or philosophical variation), then including just one kind comes off as biased and alienating.

I'm sorry to see that my screenshot offended you in an unexpected way.
I think the maintainers chose my screenshot just because it is the only existing one showing that XLibre can be run on NixOS bare metal.
I don't think selectively inclusion that you mentioned even exists in XLibre, because README.md clearly stated that:

Anybody who's interested in bringing X forward is welcome.

I noticed you are currently an arch and hyprland user (btw).
I strongly encourage you to intsall XLibre on your machine and try it out.
Installing XLibre on arch is easy, AUR packages of xlibre already exists and the installation instructions pinned on comments section are quite extensive.
There are some beginner friendly tiling window managers out there for X11 like i3, you can also try it out!
It should not be difficult for a current hyprland user.

Also, the Libreated Screen Discussion is fun. I hope to see your liberated screen there soon!
There is still no Arch Linux XLibre Libreated Screen posted there, you could be the first one!

Never mind, you can just try XLibre on VM first. When you are comfortable then you can try it on bare metal!
If you encounter some difficulties about installing XLibre, you can just ask people here. I think a lot of people are willing to help!

sasdly for now i lack a little bit of knowledge for this part ... i will try on a vm but i may fail ... cause i am not sure of modify pkgbuild and compil them against a fork yet ... this is outside my confort zone but i have a artix vm i can show in the liberated screen !

For every other package you previously removed and every package that makedepends on Xorg components, you’ll need to manually modify the PKGBUILD to update provides, conflicts, and ABI versions, and then recompile them. In theory, many of the packages removed due to requiring xorg-server don’t actually need recompilation and should depend on x-server instead, but good luck getting Arch/AUR maintainers to fix those. You may also upload your modified PKGBUILDs to the AUR with a changed pkgname and pkgdesc. I suggest naming them $original_pkgname-xlibre and appending something like (built against XLibre) to the pkgdesc.

I think it is better to follow the instruction from official X11Libre/pkgbuilds-arch-based repository.
makepkg is native to Arch (or EndeavourOS). It is more straight forward than using AUR hepler like yay or paru.

Thank you very much for your sensitive post! Your screenshot was chosen because you created and maintain a NixOS overlay for XLibre so others on NixOS can use it. This is an achievement that is recognized and appreciated. The unwritten rule for screenshots also says that everyone can include a little bit of themselves. You did that with a quote, just like b-aaz. This is common and accepted.

In addition, and this is important, the colorful screenshot breaks up the other rather muted ones and fits wonderfully with the sentence below:

I understad why theses "symbols" were used or are shows [for inclusion], but my other concern was the potential bias or [maybe unintentional] political/ideological they emit. But, when i gently asked for neurodivsersity to get added i got rejected with mean response, for me that look like a double standard, which mean I feel less safe when I already feel rejected by some movement that claim to be "inclusive" but in reality are not that but a selective favoritism and reverse discrimination mainly for political reason so when i see these "symboles" my brain interpreted them as "virtue signaling" (which make me uncomfortable for a lot of reason that I won't go into) even if this was not the intent.

If this was the only thing that look like a bias I may have still feel safe, but it was more then that, i feel the moderation feel to tolerate opinion that resemble the far left politic while traited other politic less fairly but this was maybe a one time thing.
