A huge shout-out to the developers behind the Monero plugin integration and rewrite for BTCPay Server! Your work is deeply appreciated. I caught the update during the replay of Monero Talk with Doug and the team last Wednesday night—truly inspiring stuff.
As Doug mentioned, this is a big deal for XMR adoption, and your efforts are making a real impact.
At Madison Digital Service, we’re currently using an older version of BTCPay Server to accept XMR and BTC payments through our WordPress site (hosted on LUNA Node VPS). Our purchasing pages leverage API calls (via WPForms and WPAPI plugins) to create invoices on BTCPay Server, providing users a 30-minute window to complete transactions. This setup works well for our online business.
We’re also excited to expand our offerings by providing small businesses with local custodial BTCPay Server solutions featuring Monero integration as a standalone product and service. Building on our existing SecureKat and digital wallet integrations, having the Monero plugin updated for BTCPay Server 2.1 and beyond is critical to our success. It’s priceless, and we’re thrilled to take advantage of your work. As a token of appreciation, we’re making a financial contribution to your development efforts today. Thank you!
Additionally, I developed a Point of Sale application in 2022 called "Fortress," which accepts BTC and XMR payments via secure RPC calls to local full nodes. While functional, it needs a modern facelift and further integrations. Starting July 1st, we plan to rewrite "Fortress" over 6-8 weeks, incorporating AI capabilities, Haveno for atomic swaps, and integration with BTCPay Server (local or remote) instead of handling the transaction pipeline ourselves. We’ll also include extensions like Cake Wallet. We have ambitious goals for the second half of 2025, including a hardware turnkey system focused on Monero transactions via BTCPay Server. I’ll share a public-facing GitHub repository for this project once we begin.
Lastly, I’m about to review your latest documentation and test the setup with our local BTCPay Server instance at our IT shop. We’ve acquired a mini compute system from our hardware vendor-partner, System76 with dual SSDs to handle the I/O demands of XMR and BTC on the same machine.
Thanks again for your dedication and commitment to future updates!
Best regards,
FPJ Rogowski
