Maybe I am unique, but I am running out of SSH connections on my iSeries. The log looks like this: This was working fine until recently. Two things have changed and I am not sure which one to blame. We had a recent PTF put on our system. We are V7R5M0 with TR level 6. CUM_Level 25100. By the way this does not happen all the time. It is more likely when I am in a compile/modify/fix cycle. The heavier I am using the exchange of information with the iSeries. The more probable it will occur. The errors are always SSH connection failures. Is anyone else experiencing or heard anything like this? Expected behavior Screenshots Environment (please complete the following information):

@Wynbob My guess it is something to do with the maximum number of jobs that are available in the subsystem where SSH jobs run. Typically QP0ZSPWP jobs in QUSRWRK. Maybe the maximums in QUSRWRK have been decreased. |

@Wynbob Try this search in Google for some ideas: ibm i sshd[590627]: error: no more sessions |

I think so too. I could speculate that the SSH connections under a single job are not closing in a timely manner. Maybe the PTF change the timeout for the connections being closed and they are staying open, but Code for IBMi is not looking to reuse the open connections. and just keeps opening new ones. That might explain why it only happens under a fairly rapid cycle and goes back to normal with less activity. I did search the web and am trying some debug stuff mentioned there. Thanks. |

Just in case anyone wants to know. I had our IT staff change the MaxSessions to 50 in the sshd_config file. I will try to update this discussion if that solves the issue. |

So after we changed the MaxSessions was change to 50 and SSHD was restarted. It seems to have fix the issue. Just in case someone else runs across this issue. |
