Describe the Problem
When using the List Icons widget, the text editing experience is very limited compared to the Text Editor widget.
Currently, the text field only allows basic input, which makes advanced formatting slow and frustrating.
I would like the List Icons widget to use the same rich text editor as the Text Editor widget.
Problem This Solves
• Editing list content is inefficient for real-world use cases.
• Common actions such as:
• Adding a URL to selected text
• Formatting text (bold, italic, etc.)
• Managing inline content
are unnecessarily slow or impossible.
• Users often have to switch widgets or use workarounds, which breaks workflow consistency.
Propose a Solution
Replace the basic text field in the List Icons widget with the full Text Editor interface.
• This would allow:
• Faster content editing
• Inline links on selected text
• Consistent editing experience across widgets
Additional Context
Why the List Icons Widget Still Matters
The Text Editor widget is not a full replacement for List Icons because:
• It does not handle images and icons as cleanly
• Alignment and visual consistency are harder to achieve
• The List Icons widget is still the best option for structured icon/image lists
Summary
• Keep the List Icons widget for layout and visuals
• Upgrade its text field to match the Text Editor widget
• Improve speed, usability, and consistency for content creators
This enhancement would significantly improve productivity for anyone building content-heavy pages with icon lists.
