Does the IRQ pin on the wireless module need to be connected? I cannot seem to find connection details in the wiki.

No, it's not used at the moment.

It's actually not that useful - when receiving, the module still uses 8mA (if I remember right), so there's not that much point in Espruino going to sleep.
