I don't know if this of interest or properly relevant - but at least you get to decide ;)

Applications?

• Chrome IDE outside of chrome
• Remote Flashing
• Servers that configure Espruino with the firmware to support the service

I actually did this a while back - and you can use it for both RX and TX: http://forum.espruino.com/conversations/257732/

I wasn't the first though - seems like the idea has been around for a while. You can do it with virtually no external components as well - no need for FETs and stuff like that.

But yes, it's a good idea. I've been really tempted to try and do a cheap educational board that uses it.

Being able to program a device from something like blocky on a phone would be awesome
