ESP8266 as wifi.connect does not see ESP8266 as wifi.startAP both ESPRUINO

Hello! When setup ESP8266 as access point with wifi.startAP (as httpserver) my smartphone easily connected and send info. But ESP8266 with wifi.connect does not see this access point. Though when I set up my smartphone as access point with the same settings it connects to smartphone. Why ESP8266 as client does not see ESP8266 as access point ? I tried any variants with access mode, passwords, channels. Smartphone to ESP all OK in both directions, ESP to ESP nothing. I tried Espruino v2.09 ESP8266 07.
