Posted at 2025-01-27 by @gfwilliams That is to be expected I'm afraid. The display is transflective which means it's designed reflect ambient light, and so the backlight isn't that bright or good. It's never going to be as vibrant as a OLED or IPS display, but the trade-off is it's viewable in light and is also ultra-low power so it can stay on the whole time for weeks on end. What are you displaying on the watch out of interest? Generally I find that bright primary colours end up looking pretty good - but if you try and display something more natural the display does really end up muting things. I tend to use clock faces like the default Anton or the Pebble++ face where there's a lot of contrast, and then it's pretty easy to read the watch even in reasonably dim light without the backlight. |

Hi,
I had just received my watch and am wondering if below is normal. After updating firmware and etc to latest releases, I had finally started using my watch. I had noticed that the colors do not really show that well. The backlight appears to fade the colors. I have tried to adjust the brightness but it does not appear to help. The screen is either too dark and unreadable and or bright with colors faded. Is there a way to fix this?
