Chrome Bluetooth not finding the bangle

I try to use the web IDE for my bangle.js but my chrome can't find the bangle.
I did activate everything like mentioned in the quick start.

When I go to chrome://bluetooth-internals/#devices it lists all of my bluetooth devices but not my bangle. I can see my bangle though on my phone. I also unpaired it there so it is not paired to anything right now. Does anyone has the same problem?

I am using Version 137.0.7151.68 (Official Build) (64-bit) Google-Chrome build on Manjaro.

What happens if you disable Bluetooth altogether on the phone? Does it show on your PC then?

Nope. It also didn't show on my PC before I ever connected any device with my bangle. I first tried with my PC and after that did not work I tried my phone. But now that I wanted to use the IDE I am back to wanting to get it to work with my PC.

I use the Web IDE in Brave browser on my phone - that's also a possibility. You may want to quit Gadgetbridge from its side menu before trying though.

To be clear, you are using a Chromium package from Manjaro or Google Chrome downloaded from Google?

I've been using Ubuntu's snap package of Chromium, but Chromium builds can have changes from Google Chrome so Manjaro's could remove/disable this feature.

I am using the package from the AUR. But the feature itself (bluetooth) does apparently work. It lists all my bluetooth devices (headphone, mobile phone, speaker). Only my bangle.js device is not shown in the list.

the bangle is BLE. Are you sure your pc supports BLE, not just standard BT? Verify that you can see a BLE device on your pc, it sounds like you cannot.

As you're on Linux, please can you try running bluetoothctl in the terminal, then type scan on and see if the Bangle is reported? For instance I see something line:

That might help to narrow down whether it's a Chrome issue, or some actual configuration with your PC. As others have said you can have Bluetooth working and what you see (headphone, mobile phone, speaker) are all normal Bluetooth, but Bluetooth LE is a bit different.

It's surprising though - pretty much any bluetooth radio from the past 15 years should be able to handle it.

Thank you! I tried this and I can't find my bangle.js. Although finding all other devices I have. It is surprising as my laptop with built-in Bluetooth support is only two years old and was purchased new (thinkpad l14 gen3 21C1). In the specs it says Bluetooth® 5.1.

It is surprising! If it's 2 years old the radio will 100% do Bluetooth LE.

I don't suppose you've still got it so it'll dual boot? Might be interesting to see if Windows deals any better.

Unfortunately it's just one of the joys of Linux. It might be if you update your kernel it'll work better? You could run lsusb to try and find out the USB ID of the radio and then google it and see if anyone else is having issues?
