Describe the enhancement

Unlike other automotive integrations (eg Nissan in HACS) the Renault integration does not expose the capability to send a remote lights or Horn/lights command to the vehicle altough the command is available in the MyRenault OEM app. The enhancement consiste in adding those 2 commands.

Use cases

This would allow me to create an automation (like I did for my previous car (Nissan))to activate thiese commands using the buttons of my Galaxy smarttag attached to my keyring to have a quick way to retrieve my car where my wife parked it.

It is now available in the renault api...
So you should be able to create a PR for a new button in Home Assistant

Thanks for the answer.
As I'm not a developer and I don't know about the Renault API that offers this capability, I cannot submit a PR with the associated code change.
@epenet : could you support or tell me what to do to make this feature improvement reality ?

The easiest way to start is to duplicate the renault component as "custom component":

• use https://danielcregg.github.io/github-folder-downloader/ to download the renault folder from https://github.com/home-assistant/core/tree/dev/homeassistant/components/renault
• update the manifest.json file to add version:"1.0.0" (or any version as you want!)
• copy strings.json to a subfolder translations\en.json

Then you can copy the amended subfolder to your local custom_components folder and restart Home Assistant.
If all is well, it should have a little red icon "custom component replacing core component"

Once you have that working, then you can start to edit button.py to add extra descriptions in BUTTON_TYPES
