ZBT2 enable multiprotocol support #2223

Same! The HA devs say the zbt-1 and zbt-2 were unstable with multiprotocol but how does the sonoff get their dongle to work or is it also unstable? When zbt-1 came out, I replaced my perfectly working ConBee II with zbt-1 because it was advertised that zbt-1 will support threads and zigbee together. Now since I got my first matter device, discovered that I can't use matter and zigbee devices together, hurried to buy zbt-2 only to discover after installing that the advertisements were later changed to say that zbt-2 also ONLY supports one or other. This is quite a letdown from the HA devs. I know they tried to get this multiprotocol at some point and had the firmware for this, but decided to remove this. So if SONOFF managed to get it working, maybe the HA devs gave up on this too easy? |

Describe your request
The ZBT2 is a great device. However, we have to choose either Matter/Thread or Zigbee. I want to use both protocols since I have devices using them. I understand your concerns. Maybe you can create an unsupported multiprotocol firmware as is. Collect bugs from testers, then look at them. Finally, a multiprotocol ZBT2 would make it much more attractive.
Why the uncertainty?
It's a feature request for ZBT2.
Use cases
Using Zigbee and Matter over thread on the same time and with the same device.
What areas might this affect?
ZBT2 firmware
