The files belonging to my movies library reside in a single folder named Veit Harlan - (1944) - Opfergang-backdrop.jpg

Now the way I understand Jellyfin, it is not ideal to store movies using this structure because I can't have alternative versions of the same movie and I would guess that this also not so good for performance. Now my question is, how can I convert this file structure to the suggested structure explained here without loosing any metadata - maybe not even the watch history, favorites or collections that I already built and that are store elsewhere in the Jellyfin DB. I am comfortable writing a script that restructures the whole |

I ended up writing a script that reorganized all movies in a folder structure as described here The Movie Title (2021) [imdbid-tt12801262]
├── The Movie Title (2021) [imdbid-tt12801262].mkv
├── movie.nfo
├── backdrop.jpg
├── logo.svg
├── landscape.jpg
└── folder.jpg
and then I rescanned the whole library. The artwork and the metadata stayed the same. I only had to re-add the movies to the collections I had created earlier. Everything else just worked. |
