I am just stating this for cinnamon since I do not know what other editions come with.
I find that when I install mint now very shortly after the upgrade I will completely remove libreoffice and then install it again in flatpak so that I can get the latest version. Its the simplest way for me to not always be out of date.
I'm not trying to be negative, I know that its a difficult task to keep on top of having the latest libreoffice in the repos.
Alternatively it could just be installed inside flatpak right from the mint installer, then it could be updated fairly simply.
Its just really a lot to download for people on limited data plans like myself.
