I had the VAST displeasure of attempting to migrate a MS Surface Pro X only this week for work. It was a fuggin nightmare. Sadly Mint does not come with the necessary ARM64 support. One has to use something like the Ubuntu 25.04 ARM64 to even begin to get it to play nicely. Your frustrations will only start from there. Even with the full kernel support, getting the touch screen, pen, yadda yadda yadda is a hair-rending exercise in pure MS bastardry. I swear, by all the gods, that company is the most toxic, belligerent and unnecessarily obfuscatory in all of history. Nothing, I repeat, nothing was easy. Every step of every thing was deliberately designed to impede the customer doing as they wish on their own device (even worse than Apple does, if thats possible) Do yourself a favour and sell the MS Surface Pro and use the proceeds for something like a Lenovo ThinkPad X12 Detachable ... it will save your sanity. |
