In Bangladesh, people use different numbering systems and number characters depending on the needs and contexts. However, due to the Region setting in the "Languages" settings page controlling many language and region settings like currency, units of measurement etc, I am facing an issue where in certain tasks that need me to use the Latin numerals as is standard, Linux Mint uses my local numerals for UI display and setting (in this case Bengali numerals.) This is quite a big issue for people in places which use multiple numeric systems (Like Middle East, Japan, Nepal etc) hence I would suggest the following improvement:
Creating an "advanced" languages page, similar to the advanced settings page in the Themes settings panel. In this advanced languages page, I think having a design with drop downs to select specific preferences for each locale setting (like time, number system, number characters, currencies, addresses, measurement units, languages etc) allowing us who need to regularly use multiple numeric systems to have an easy way to change said settings and allowing more tuning for advanced users who might want more customization. Hope you guys are getting what I am trying to suggest.
