Please make Mint 22.2 installable into BTRFS-RAID1 already-prepared, and mdadm-raid1 underlying swap.. #1099

Raid can be useful but main for server, for desktops (which is what Mint is aiming for), I think it would be used in rare cases. Regarding RAID 1 btrfs, thanks to its flexibility, you can easily do this by adding the second disk to the btrfs volume and converting the profile later. What would be more useful to implement in Mint is improve btrfs support for basic things (starting from mount options and default subvolumes), while for RAID 1 btrfs, I think it would be more useful if it were supported in Debian (in its installer for the servers). A very important thing that many people seem to ignore: RAID and snapshots are NOT backups. They can help in various situations (for greater continuity and less data loss), but backups are essential, and backups are external copies of data; they can be on removable disks, NAS, remote servers, cloud storage services, etc. |

These requests are for making simple, easy-to-understand & work-with home systems for people,
that are resistant to losing ALL their data, when a storage-device dies on them, see?
They don't have to be the one to set it up,
but when a drive dies, them being told that they lost EVERYthing, when it was all preventable with a little proactive-redundancy, strikes me as Solving The Wrong Problem(tm), & making their-lives pay the price for it.
Please make it be understanding if one wants /usr /opt /home /tmp /var all in subvolumes, too.
for those who don't know, mdadm-raid1 is write-raid1, read-raid0, so it's faster, though only 1/2 the dataspace of just putting swap raw on 2 identical partitions, & if 1 drive dies, your machine doesn't lock-up.
( I failed to get 22.1 to install into an already-prepped BTRFS-RAID1, with compression & xxhash checsums, set-of-disks, which is why I'm asking now.
Sorry I didn't inform you earlier. )
Salut, Namaste, & Kaizen.
