Subject: Feedback on Default Icon Theme Behavior
Dear Linux Mint Team,
I’ve been a long-time user of Linux Mint and truly appreciate the effort you put into making a stable and user-friendly distro. However, I want to bring up an issue that has been bothering me.
The default icon theme in Linux Mint feels outdated and does not match modern aesthetics. More importantly, applying this theme automatically to third-party applications like Chrome is unnecessary and, frankly, intrusive. Users should have the freedom to maintain a consistent look for their native and third-party apps separately, rather than having an imposed theme applied across everything.
I believe allowing more flexibility in icon theming, or at least giving an option to disable third-party icon theming, would significantly improve the user experience.
Thank you for considering this feedback, and I hope future updates address this.
Best regards,
Lemma
