Mint don't manage these packages but inherit from Ubuntu. If this bug is important enough, maybe someone can convince Ubuntu to backport the fix to Ubuntu 24.04 LTS? |

Generally true, that "...someone can convince Ubuntu to backport the fix to Ubuntu 24.04 LTS.". But I'd assume that the Mint staff is far more experienced on how to pass that kind of issue to the Ubuntu guys. So, it would be very kind, if the issue could be pushed by the Mint team. And regarding urgency, I don't expect the Mint team appreciating Linux Mint currently completely failing to connect to a VPN in the given scenario. |

I hope this is the right place for my request. I wanted to place it as close to the Dev team as possible.
Could you please introduce NetworkManager-1.46.2 along with NetworkManager-openvpn-1.12.0 in Mint 22.1. (or earlier, depending on the efforts this would take). This fixes a very annoying bug, which prevents vpn login via OpenVPN on Linux Mint.
NetworkManager-1.46.2
"Fix OpenVPN dynamic challenge handling (needs updated NetworkManager-openvpn)"
Release Notes
NetworkManager-openvpn-1.12.0
"Adapt to the new way of handling the 2FA secret by the daemon, needed by it to fix a bug with certain clients. Requires NetworkManager >= 1.46.2."
Release Notes
Sorry again, if this isn't the proper way to file this request. I couldn't find a better place.
