If you know what you're doing, you can remove some default applications. In general, I don't recommend to uninstall default apps. There point is, you also need to check if apps you want to uninstall depend on shared resources. |

Quick note about Rhythmbox, this app works nicely and I'm happy to have it. "extremely poorly" is a crude judgement and doesn't explain what features you're missing. Pix is Mint's official Image Gallery app and you need to use it repeatedly to understand all its features to get comfortable with it. If you come from Mac or Win, you'll find with Linux a completely different world of apps. Free software may have less features, but is bloat-free in comparison to commercial apps. Matrix: I agree with you, there are better alternatives than Matrix. |

Yes it's safe to remove these. Note, matrix is just a webapp, and can be deleted in the webapp manager app. |

Since I never use the programs and think that they are just bloatware. Rhythmbox, for example, runs extremely poorly on Linux Mint. I have no idea why this thing is still part of Linux Mint. Is it safe to remove?
