Maybe even add an option for time based power profiles so if someone were to use their pc as a server, alarm clock, or has power hungry tasks scheduled they could set their desired start time for performance, balanced, or power saver mode to start, and a stop time to return it to a desired default. For example if you have a media, nas, or router system it could go into power saver during the day, and performance mode at night when power is cheaper so it is cheaper to run power hungry tasks and allow the system to run cooler during the day, especially usefull in the summer months or in hot climates. |

Add power-profile-daemon as optional dependency.
Add protections to the update manager so it will not run automatic updates when on low battery, or if on DC mode(togglable).
Add the ability to automatically go into power saver mode when in DC mode with a battery charge of less then 30%(hide this option if the user has already selected power saver as the default mode when in DC mode).
when these features get added just use power manager to control power-profiles-deamon like you can already so power-profile-deamon does not require modification to add any specific functions.
Add a button to install the power-profile-deamon in power settings if it is not detected instead of hiding the option altogether so no one even knows it is a option, or has to search the internet or ask on github how to make it work.
I think if the idea's above where implemented it would make Linux Mint a lot more user friendly and usefull for laptop users, which these days is most Linux desktop users If the current computer market is anything to go by.
