hello.
After completing my first installation of Linux Mint on VMware and running sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade and then rebooting, I found that it causes a kernel panic, specifically GRUB is broken. I suspect this is due to a mismatch between the appropriate update and the kernel version.
I tried both partitioning and deleting from all disks, and both caused kernel panics. I think I won't be able to use Mint for the time being and will move to another Linux.
Notice: Updating Package with mint OS's built-in update manager does not cause a kernel panic.
However, as soon as I finished installing mint os, I found that when I ran sudo update & upgrade in terminal, the kernel and GRUB were corrupted. I am not sure if this is a bug or a problem caused by a version mismatch, as I do not have much knowledge about linux. If you happen to see this, it seems like a simple check is needed.
