Bring back the download speed details in mint update tool

At one point in the past I swear the system updater showed the download speed, and I have to seen it on LMDE6, maybe I am missing something I don't know, but I would like that feature back if it is possible.

Open "Software Sources" and click on one of the mirrors. This will show you the download speed for each one. That's where it has been for a long time :)

No I mean when I'm downloading updates, the mirror speed when I checked 6 months ago is not helpful when you use different networks, and I also miss the download completion estimation that was with it.

In other words I would like the the "sudo apt-get upgrade" download speed and download completion estimate in the gui updater, even the "flatpak update" command shows download speed and estimate completion time.

Ah, I think I remember what you are talking about now. It seems that was lost when we moved to the new backends for mintupdate.

I don't know how necessary this is, strictly speaking, but it is certainly an aid to patience during updates.

Doesn't Nemo do something similar? Would it be possible to "borrow" the code? 😄
