I am new user to Linux.
I really need one feature. I am running some files from the network via SAMBA protocol. These files are not saved in recent file. In file maneger only local files are saved in recent file. And there is an option Open containing folder. But I need this option for network files. I don't remember which directories these files are in. Network recent files are saved in mint start menu. But there is no open containing folder function there. There is a recent files applet that saves a list of downloaded files. But again I can only launch them but I can't open the directory where the file is located. Help. I need this feature.

I really need the recentfiles function because I am currently using Linux Mint on my home computer, which serves more as a media player for a home theater. I often switch between TV series and movies, and I need to understand which episode or movie I stopped on the day before yesterday to continue watching. In Windows, the recentfiles function works as it should. I just wrote a program on DotNet 8.0 GTK 3 that simply displays a list of recent files, and by double-clicking I get to the file directory. Exec nemo with parameter file. Nemo open folder and selected file. The picture shows a list of files from Mint file manager and my program. On the virtual machine where I developed the program. It was easy for me to do this because I am a bit of a C# developer for Windows.
Please note. For some reason, smb links are not included in the mint list!!!
but all information on recent file stored in /local/share/recently-used.xbel But the nemo program does not display all the information that is saved in this file.
The program is simple and works as I need it to.
How it works. I turn on the computer. I launch my program. I look at the last movie I watched. Or at what episode of the series I stopped. I double-click on it. I get to the catalog where the selected series is located. And I simply choose the next episode.
In Windows, recent files work as expected. All files are displayed and I can get to the directory by right-clicking. Why is this difficult in Linux? I don't understand.
