Has anyone else had their mouse curser dissapear for seemingly no reason?

Yes mouse still works, it just is invisible.

Any command I could run when it goes invisible would be great.

Well, I didn't exactly have this issue. However, sometimes, my cursor suddenly gets stuck for no reason. With luck, it starts working again after some time. However, luck doesn't always favor. A "sudo reboot now" seems to always fix the issue, but I really don't know the reason why this happens.

Is their a command to restart the mouse cursor service or something?

I currently run sudo reboot now, but given I have a lot of programs, a server, and pdfs open It would be nice to not half to do that more then necessary, especially new users that might not be so nice about it.

1. Try systemctl restart udev (needs the root rights).
2. Try sudo modprobe psmouse. If that works, add psmouse to your module list with: echo "psmouse" | sudo tee -a /etc/modules

And it allows the restart cinnamon restart short cut to reload the mouse curser right?

Cause my mouse curser does currently show up, it just dissapears for a seemingly random reason, it has happened twice in a 2 week period, and restarting cinnamon does not fix it. I have been keeping a closer eye out for it happening again to try to discern a cause but no luck so far.

If nothing else the mouse curser restart should happen when cinnamon is restarted by default, to resolve this random problem.

I have been updating as normal and I have not seen the problem come back yet, and Quite frankly I'm hoping that's the case.

This happens regularly to me. I can't tell whether the problem is with the system or with my eyesight (I'm getting old).

Coping strategies: enlarge the pointer size in the System Settings, and download a pointer theme that provides colored pointers.

No my curser literally disapeared, over a white background, and was indicating it's position via icons lighting up and indicating a cursur was over it, it just was not visible like a shirt and pants walking around and talking to you but their is no one visible wearing the clothes, but you know that someone is wearing them. And I could click on things if I could blindly position the curser.

I use the Bibata-Modern-Classic mouse cursor (in system settings -> Themes) and have no problems.

I mean, the problems are occasional, don't you ever see them with the default cursor? If not, it's probably the custom cursors I guess.

I'm not sure what you mean. In my case, I had to switch to the custom cursor because the problem happens all too often with the default one. The custom cursor helps, but it's not a complete solution.

Is their a command I can run in the terminal to restart the cursor service in the case It glitches out again? Without a complete restart?
