Would be great to have an optional sidebar on the right. One click to any places-location AND navigate with the tree as well.

There are various ways to configure this, which might be realy helpfull. Maybe you prefer the whole sidebar on the right, instead of the left. Or you want to use both tree AND places, like me. No more switching from places to tree with those little buttons in the statusbar, would be a blessing. Takes little screen-space for a much smoother user-experience.
