Releases
LMDE 6
Compatibility
Works fine with some minor problems
Description of the hardware
Releases
LMDE 6 Faye (Debian 12.1 Bookworm base) with Kernel 6.12.27+bpo-amd64 (manually upgraded)
Compatibility
Works very well with minor exceptions
Description of the hardware
Laptop: Lenovo IdeaPad L340-15IWL (System 81LG)
Desktop Environment: Cinnamon 6.4.8
Display Server: Xorg (Muffin window manager)
Display: Laptop screen and peripherals tested
What works:
External devices including USB peripherals, external HDDs, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, internal speakers, and microphone all work out of the box.
Keyboard and touchpad are fully functional with default drivers.
Manual kernel upgrade to 6.12.27+bpo-amd64 was successful and improved hardware support/stability.
Power management is stable; battery drain is reasonable under normal usage.
Most hardware drivers are included by default in LMDE 6, making setup straightforward.
What doesn’t work / Issues:
Samsung Printer M2070 driver installed by Mint was incorrect; had to install the correct driver manually for full printer functionality from: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/samsung-xpress-sl-m2070-laser-multifunction-printer-series/16450377
I'm not sure about the camera. It turned on but saw a black screen in Cheese.
No major display or peripheral issues noticed so far.
Optional - Notes
Kernel upgrade was done manually since LMDE 6 ships with an older kernel by default; this improved hardware compatibility.
