🌊 LogWard is now Logtide

TL;DR: LogWard is being renamed to Logtide due to a trademark conflict. All features remain the same, and we're working to make the transition seamless for all users.

What's happening?

On January 7th, 2025, we received a trademark infringement notice from the legitimate owner of the "Logward" trademark (a European supply chain software company). After reviewing the claim, we confirmed they have valid trademark rights.

As an open-source project committed to doing the right thing, we're proactively rebranding to Logtide to respect their intellectual property.

Why Logtide?

The new name reflects our core mission even better:

• Log = What we manage (logs, metrics, traces)
• Tide = The continuous flow of observability data
• Easy to pronounce, memorable, and available worldwide

What changes for you?

For self-hosted users:

• Docker images: Transitioning from logward/* to logtide/*
• Configuration: Minimal changes (we'll provide migration guides)
• Data: Zero impact - your existing data remains intact
• Features: Everything stays exactly the same

For cloud users (logward.dev):

• The platform will move to logtide.dev
• Your dashboards, alerts, and configurations will be automatically migrated
• You'll receive email notifications before any changes

For SDK users:

• New package names will be published (e.g., logtide-python, logtide-php)
• Old packages will remain available with deprecation notices
• Migration is as simple as updating import statements

• Now - January 20: Full transition complete
