YMF271 Datasheet: Can it be used for reference to help improve emulation of the sound chip? #183
-
A while ago, I was searching for relevant documentation that could provide better understanding of the YMF271 (OPX) sound chip and found a video by Mylstar Electronics on YouTube showing the official datasheet. It's unfortunately in Japanese, but can it be further analyzed to see where and how the emulation flaws surrounding this sound chip can be fixed to improve its emulation? I designated this as a Q&A because I'm not sure whether a broader range of discussion could be possible regarding this sound chip (or whether a different category would be more appropriate than that) and I needed to ask this if it could be okay to look into it. |

One of the resources when programming an emulator is datasheets. So yeah, we already did that, including for YMF271. |
