setting Station-G2 to "router" may have bricked radio

I live in a rural area, with very low radio density. In an effort to improve message flow, we agreed to set my device to "router", since it's the only radio with elevation and power. Setting it to "router" resulted in immediate shutdown. If I power-cycle the G2, it looks ok for a few seconds, but any interaction results in it saying it is connected, but asleep, and all the radio configuration menu is grayed out. It has the latest beta firmware. It is mounted in an enclosure, at the peak of my roof. I will climb up there today, and try to erase/reinstall the firmware.

Router role initiates ESP-32 power saving mode by default. I believe it also disables the Bluetooth interface but I may be wrong. Try Router-Late and see if that works for you. Router is intended to be remotely managed and not used as a client to send messages.

Thanks! I don't need it to send messages (I have a T-Echo for that). So, before setting the device to "router", I needed to set up remote admin. Arrrgh.

Ok. I have confirmed that the Station-G2, set to "router" mode, is still working and forwarding messages. I just can't control it. Maybe a simple message could be added to config, so when someone sets the device to "router", it warns them to setup remote administration first, because they'll lose bluetooth.

I have removed my Station G2 from it's mast. I have it plugged into a usb port on my computer. It shows as a serial device with a com port. I cannot get it to enter flash mode. I tried both holding the firmware button while pressing the reset button, and holding the firmware button while inserting the usb cable, and holding the reset button while inserting the usb cable. Is there anything else I can try? Using the Chrome browser, I can open a serial connection to the device.

Ok... I solved this headache, by taking on a bigger headache. I installed Python and PIP, downloaded a firmware package, and installed it using CLI. PITB. Also, for info - the latest Beta firmware package has only the Station G1. In order to get a Station G2 firmware, I had to download an Alpha version.
