Thanks, but...I'm not sure how that will help me. What point were you trying to make? |

Oh, yes. There definitely is, according to specs and web postings. I'm just wondering if I can install PI OS via the Micro-USB connector on the Chameleon' case, without having to remove the CM unit. Technically, the Lora chips wouldn't be on a HAT, they'd be on Syncro.Bit's main board. |

With all this debate going on, I just want to make clear that I have zero interest in cryptocurrency. I would just like to get RPI OS running on my Syncro.bit Chameleon to set up Meshtastic. |

Yes. I'd like to be able to flash it with RPI OS through the case USB port. Is that likely to be possible? |

I took a whole lot of photos. Here are some shots of the whole inside, the RPI (off to one side) and the Lora module/chips. It looks like the Lora module contains a Semtech SX1302 and two Semtech SX250 RF front end chips. You can see a 4-pin UART interface near the fan connector. That might be useful for some folks. If anyone wants me to upload the other photos, of the rear of the PCB, the heatsink, the case, connectors, LED strip and so on, just let me know. I'm hoping that other people will try to work with this unit too. Thanks |

@thebentern / @rcarteraz any pointers to specific compatible LoRa modules, particularly usb devices like the MeshToad mentioned in the post? I'm pretty new to Meshtastic and have a couple projects I would like to pursue with native linux (I'm eager to do this exact project, but have a few other ideas too), some of which could be done with Pi hats, but others I would like to use well-supported usb devices. Is it possible to buy a finished MeshToad somewhere, or maybe the PineDio USB LoRa adapter is a good way to go? https://pine64.com/product/pinedio-usb-lora-adapter/ Or maybe one of these? https://shop.sb-components.co.uk/products/usb-type-c-to-lora-dongle?variant=41026476802131 I'm looking for something I can have pretty high confidence will work with meshtasticd without too much pain. Thanks! |

Rather neat to see a reuse of at least some of the old hardware still in use. I might have to put one of mine to use like that. |

Thanks for sharing this. However I'm new to meshtastic. Will i be able to mine HNT or any other coin by converting my old unused IOT miners? |

If you are one of the lucky few that recieved a Nebra with the GPS onboard here is a simple way to enable and use it on your Meshtastic buildout. https://github.com/2j1c48/Nebra-Meshtastic-GPSonboard-enable/tree/main |

According to the AI I asked, the Rak V1 uses an SX1301 Concentrator chip. It also claimed that Meshtastic is not supported on that chip. You might want to check on a Meshtastic forum or user group somewhere to see if that's accurate. |
