ESP32-MINI-1 support

Hi.
I have aESP32-DevKitM-1 card which is ESP32-MINI-1(1U) based.
see datasheet

I have flashed it successfully with this firmware
https://micropython.org/download/esp32/
But connecting to it using Thonny I get this message:

Is there no support for this ESP32 for MicroPython or how do I solve this?
I have seen this post from AwesomeCronk:

It requires a specific board configuration for which there is a PR, which was reviewed but it was never merged. Maybe because of an error in the commit message format, which was not fixed.

But how do I use that?

You have to set up the build environment and build the firmware using this PR. That's quite s bit of work, if doing it the first time. Instructions are in the readme file for the esp32 port and for MicroPython.
