SPI Ethernet example/code

Hello,
I would like to do some experimentation with Single-Pair Ethernet (SPE) using Micropython, an ESP32 DevKitC board, and a Mikroe TWO-WIRE ETH CLICK (https://www.mikroe.com/two-wire-eth-click).

I was thinking of wiring up two DevKitC-Mikroe combos, along with a USB-SPE adapter (Microchip EV08L38A) to inject/inspect traffic

For the Micropython portion, does anyone have example code to share for how to set up and test an SPI Ethernet?
Are there any specific pins on the DevKitC board that are best (I'd like to retain as much flexibility with the remaining open pins as possible)

And for sure, if someone has already done this, as much help as can be provided would be wonderful.
