Cosmic Unicorn (with onboard Pico W) won't load files on Thonny (OSX)

Something bad happened during a stop/start cycle, and now my Cosmic Unicorn won't let me see its files.

It boots and runs immediately, but the files won't load and I can't stop the back end anymore.

Pressing "Stop" results in this same error, over and over:

Process ended with exit code 1.
Unable to connect to /dev/cu.usbmodem11401: [Errno 2] could not open port /dev/cu.usbmodem11401: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/dev/cu.usbmodem11401'

I have no idea what I did. I tried re-flashing the unit with the latest micropython uf2, but same thing. Also reinstalled Thonny.

What the hell happened here?

Now the interpreter won't load. I think it's something to do with that, but I'm not sure.

Not sure what happened, but everything is working now. If anyone has an idea what was going on, feel free to comment!
