STM32H723VGT6 board files for WeAct

I tried downloading NUCLEO_H723ZG-20241025-v1.24.0.hex to the board and using D8 and D9 for REPL ... I was not surprised that REPL didn't work. Possibly something to do with setting up the oscillators correctly.

WeAct have an OpenMV project:

but before I launch into that endeavour I wondered if anyone has got standard Micropython working on this board and would be willing to share their board files.

I would be happy with internal flash as it is the GPIO I need rather than program space.

@nspsck, now I would like 75 GPIO. I will go through mpconfigboard.h and disable the peripherals that I do not need. I will probably want to disable OSPI flash. Could you tell me the make command to build without OSPI?

If I remember correctly, you have to delete these lines, and maybe also delete bdev.c, that file should not be read if you take these lines out, but I am not entirely sure about that.

I see HSE_VALUE (25000000) in `stm32H7xx_hal_conf.h, but that is the limit of my debugging capabilities.

I am leaning toward that you haven't updated your local clone correctly. (but ye... both of my thoughts are probably incorrect, because both of them makes no sense to me (probably because I do not know the project well enough))

I was just hoping that something magical would happen, because those two things I came up with makes even no sense to myself...

As you can see here, if you updated submodules, you should be having this in your micropython/lib/stm32lib/STM32H7xx_HAL_Driver/Inc /stm32h7xx_hal_rcc_ex.h. Hence you should not behaving the problem...

Those lines are in that file.

Rather than trying to sort my build issues would it be less work for you to just do a build removing everything except UART3, maybe leave the blue LED and key in? E3 and C13 might be needed.

That won't be necessary, as long as you do not call those interfaces, you can use the pins just as normal GPIO pins. But you have to be extra careful when using pins that are directly wired to the SPI flashes. But I can provide you both. Tho, be aware: the uart3_only version can only connect to thonny through a uart bridge. The usb won't work.

I use a FTDI programmer and rshell. If need the extra pins I can remove the SPI flash ;( and use firmware_H7.zip Thank you for all your effort.

I had a working board definition as well: https://github.com/jkorte-dev/micropython-board-STM32H723VGT6 tested with 1.21.0 and 1.22.0. Maybe it still works with the latest micropython .

I might to try to build yours. It seems I have a build issue with Ubuntu 22.04 or getting QSPI and OSPI errors sorted-out is a problem for me.
