ImportError: no module named 'inspect'

I'm wanting to use the inspect module's iscoroutinefunction(), but when I import it, I get: ImportError: no module named 'inspect' in MicroPython.

Here's the code sample:

from inspect import iscoroutinefunction
from asyncio import sleep

print(iscoroutinefunction(sleep))

The same code works without error running using regular Python.

I see the module's code under python-stdlib and there are commits back to 2021, so I don't think it's a case of being too new for the version of MicroPython I'm using (1.24.1).

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? I'm running this on ESP32 if that makes a difference.

Have you tried to install it using mip?

It's not part of the modules included by default

When in doubt: help("modules") shows the modules that are available

Interestingly, inspect.iscouroutinefunction() gives an error.

I see from inspect.py that iscoroutinefunction is just assigned to isgeneratorfunction, so I tried that.

Then it tells me False, which is not right. I would think testing asyncio.sleep() should return True. When running with regular Python it returns True.
