Tried getting this implemented.

When i go to view the connection details for azure search, I see the error message object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Has anyone run into this error message , what was the fix?

This is a known Managed Virtual Network (preview) issue. The Bicep deployment succeeds and Azure AI Search works at runtime, but the Foundry portal throws “Object reference not set to an instance of an object” when viewing Connection details. It’s a portal/UI bug caused by partially populated Search connection metadata in preview, not a backend failure.

Workarounds:

Validate via runtime (agent queries, SDK, Search logs) functionality is unaffected.
Ensure an explicit outbound rule for Azure AI Search is added via CLI (not portal).
Recreate the Search connection after private endpoint approval.

Its safe to ignore if runtime works; it’s a preview UX issue.
