Based on what is stated in this comment from @edburns, it looks like the question discussed here is "Should the official Antropic Java SDK for MCP support Java 8". As mentioned in this comment posted 2 weeks ago, I think we already all agree that the baseline of the official SDK should remain Java 17. In the original thread, we just proposed to not artificially raise the baseline of the SPI module only to allow custom implementations to use a Java 8 baseline as that does not hurt and will likely be useful for some implementors. |
