Change selection of text section

Hi,
After I have added code to a line of text, is it possible to edit the selection of the text line? For example, to extend it if I want to select another sentence or word right before or after my selected section?
Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find this function. If it doesn't exist yet, it would be a great feature to add.

yes, right now you have to delete the selection and create a new one.
How would you like to have this feature implemented?
Dragging the left boundary to the left and the right boundary to the right side? This could be tricky and present a nice challenge for a student project to show some little handle…
