Well I just bit the bullet and manually copied over all the files and folders from ~/myusername/.orbstack to ~/myusername/Library/Group Containers/HUAQ24HBR6.dev.orbstack and it seems to work. So I guess it's all good...? |

Hi Everyone -
First off, thank you for OrbStack. I'm an absolute Docker neophyte, and have always had issues trying to figure it out and keep it running on the Mac. OrbStack, on the other hand, has been stable and wonderful. Great job:)
Anyway, I just used macOS Migration Assistant to move from an Intel Mac mini running Monterey 12.x to an M4 Mac mini running Sequoia 15.x. I was running OrbStack for Intel v0.5 on the old mini. On the new mini I've downloaded the latest Apple Silicon build v1.10.3.
My OrbStack Containers are currently empty. I did some digging and saw that the old v0.5 build of OrbStack kept all its data in
~/myusername/.orbstack
While the new version stores its data in
~/myusername/Library/Group Containers/HUAQ24HBR6.dev.orbstack
Question: Is the old v0.5 data compatible with the latest v1.10.3 build? In other words, can I either a) manually move the data myself to the new location, or b) use OrbStack's "Data location" setting to point to the old directory and expect my old Containers to start working?
I did find a thread about Importing / Exporting machines, but I'm afraid that might be a little above my (frankly low) expertise level with this stuff.
Thanks!
