Questions about product registration and domain change

We always perform Pimcore upgrades on duplicate webspaces that run on a different domain than the production website. After the successful upgrade, the domain is switched to the new webspace.

My questions:

• For my first upgrade to Pimcore 12, I have specified the test domain as the URL. I assume I could have specified the correct domain here right away, even though the upgrade was initially performed on a different domain?
• How can I provide the correct URL to avoid the risk of a license violation being detected because the registration does not match the correct domain?
• Is it generally necessary to announce domain changes after a product registration (if, for example, the customer changes the domain)?

Hi,
we have differentiate product registration and enterprise subscription check here.

The product registration is completely independent from the domain. The Project Company URL given during registration is just for identifying the customer, the registration is about the instance identifier only.

For the enterprise subscription check, we check the instance identifiers and domains, and show a warning when one subscription token is used for multiple main domains or instance identifiers in production.
To avoid this during an upgrade, set the pimcore_enterprise_subscription_tools.production_system flag to true only after you switched the domains.
If it still should happen that a warning is shown - just contact us directly and we will reset the enterprise subscription check again.

Again, we need to differentiate product registration and enterprise subscription check here:

Product registration is checked offline during symfony container build, no connection to the internet needed. Check is performed based on the product key, instance identifier and the encryption secret. As long as they don't change, the check should not fail.
During runtime (as long as container is not built), there is no additional product registration check which could harm operations.

Enterprise subscription is checked after login into the backend. A failed check results in an error message shown to the user in the bottom left corner, but besides that it does not harm any operations.

Thanks for your reply! But just to be sure I'm not doing anything wrong here: An enterprise subscription is not relevant for my case, as the project is well below the revenue threshold that would make it necessary. And when registering, the URL of the test web space was already entered as the project URL instead of the actual customer URL. Next time, I will enter the customer URL directly. But in this case: Does this need to be corrected, and if so, how? Or does it not matter?
