Boot from parallel (ONFI) NAND Flash

We are looking at using the polarfire SoC for a space based application. Unfortunately there are not any EMMC space qualified flash devices available. Companies like 3dplus do have NAND Flash but the interface is ONFI and I don't see any option in the MSS Configurator for ONFI nand flash.

Is there a way to use one of these devices as a storage medium for an OS (linux)? Do I need to connect it to the fabric and then somehow boot from it (provide AXI memory address or something like that)?

I'm in the same boat as you. Have you found a solution? Is it not possible to connect directly to the MSS via ONFI using the digital pins?
I know one way is to implement the driver in the fabric and use AXI to communicate with the driver from MSS, but I'd prefer not to have to use any more FICs.
