Why -ut no response？

The -ut (update templates) command can hang or show no response when:

1. Network/firewall blocking - Check if you can reach GitHub:

curl https://api.github.com

2. Proxy settings - If behind a proxy, set:

set HTTPS_PROXY=http://proxy:port
nuclei -ut

3. Try verbose mode to see whats happening:

nuclei -ut -v

4. Manual template update as workaround:

git clone https://github.com/projectdiscovery/nuclei-templates %USERPROFILE%\nuclei-templates

5. Check if templates folder exists:

dir %USERPROFILE%\nuclei-templates

If the folder doesnt exist or is corrupted, delete it and run -ut again:

rmdir /s /q %USERPROFILE%\nuclei-templates
nuclei -ut -v

The most common cause on Windows is antivirus/firewall blocking the download.
