Support -scap consistently across figures, tables and lists in PDF output

Description

Feature request to support -scap consistently across figures, tables and lists in PDF output.

Would like tbl-scap to appear in the List of Tables; instead the full tbl-cap appears. Would like a List of Lists showing the lst-scap. And the short mermaid caption to appear in the LOF instead of the long one.
