How does isDirty flag in reset() works

i tried setting isDirty to true but it doesn't make my formState dirty so wandering is there any other purpose of it ?

I actually want to just setValue to my fieldArray completely new and setValue seems to be giving out lot of errors hence the question. Had to use reset but i still want it to be dirty after new valued in field array.
