How do you manage the state vars when the vars are much

In the case of having a User model with up to 15 fields and I would like to have a UserState, what is the best way to set/access the fields by querying the db for the user

I'd appreciate some guidance, am I doing it right?

The queries look correct - but you want to set the self.user var to the result of the query. The event handlers shouldn't returning anything in this case, they should just modify the state vars. Pynecone detects whenever a state var is changed and sends its new value to the frontend.

Try changing the state to something like this:

class UserState(pc.State):
    user: User
    users: list[User] = []

    def create_user(self, user: User):
        with pc.session() as session:
            session.add(user)
            session.commit()
            self.user = user

    def update_user(self, user_id: int, user_info: dict):
        with pc.session() as session:
            user = session.exec(select(User).where(User.id == user_id)).one()
            # update user with user_info
            session.add(user)
            session.commit()
            session.refresh(user)
            print("Updated user info: ", user)

    def fetch_all_users(self):
        with pc.session() as session:
            self.users = session.exec(select(User)).all()

    def fetch_user_by_id(self, user_id: int):
        with pc.session() as session:
            self.user = session.exec(select(User).where(User.id == user_id)).first()

So normally for our forms, we kind of repeated the model fields in the state. But since you have so many, this would be a pain. We will include a way to make this easier.
