Reflex Release Cadence

As of Feb 26th, 2024 the Reflex team is aiming for weekly releases on Mondays.

Schedule

Thursday Afternoon (Pacific Time)

A release candidate branch is created from main in the form of release/reflex-0.X.Y.

• A pre-release reflex==0.X.Ya1 will be published to PyPI
• A pre-release topic will be posted on Github Discussions. If any bugs or issues are found in the pre-release, use this thread for further discussion with maintainers.
• The discussion thread will be linked on the #opensource discourse channel.

Thursday - Sunday

Any critical fixes to the pre-release payload should be targeted to main and will be cherry-picked into the release/reflex-0.X.Y branch

• Subsequent pre-release builds will be published to PyPI as required.

main branch remains open

Monday Afternoon (Pacific Time)

Release published to PyPI from release/reflex-0.X.Y branch

• Release notes posted to Github and tag published from release/reflex-0.X.Y branch.
• Changelog and doc updates published to https://reflex.dev
• Announcement of the release will be made on the #announcements discourse channel and various social media channels.
• Pre-release discussion is closed.

Notes

• All PRs should target main. The release candidate branch will never be merged back to main.
• The main branch will accept PRs after the Thursday cutoff, but their payload will be delivered in the next next release.
