Fresh installation of Regolith 2.2, lags when laptop lid is closed (or primary display disabled)

I've been using Regolith for years, haven't updated in more than a year. Just did a fresh installation of 2.2. Laptop is connected to an external display via USB-C. When laptop lid is closed, everything becomes incredibly slow (3 second lag to any interaction/typing). Same happens when I try to disable the laptop's screen (this is how I normally work, using just the external display). Upon opening the lid, system behaves normally again.

Also, Xorg is using up 35% of CPU for some reason. I have done absolutely nothing with the system, just boot it up freshly installed.

Fixed by switching from nvidia-driver-525 to nvidia-driver-515. The high Xorg usage seems to be an Nvidia issue, as per this thread: https://forums.developer.nvidia.com/t/high-cpu-usage-on-xorg-when-the-external-monitor-is-plugged-in/169173/
