Regolith Control Center errors on startup

I cannot start the Regolith settings app with the hotkey or directly. When I run the command regolith-control-center I get this output:

How can I open the Regolith settings app?

It looks like you're on a version of Regolith that doesn't support Ubuntu Mantic based on your version of regolith-control-center. I'm running Mantic and have version regolith-control-center/unknown,now 1.45.5-1-1regolith-mantic. Check to see what repo URL you're installing Regolith from and ensure it lines up with what is specified at your Ubuntu version here: https://regolith-desktop.com/docs/using-regolith/install/.

How do I fix these errors?

In Regolith, i3 loads configuration from multiple files. You can see in /etc/regolith/i3/config towards the bottom there are lines starting with include. The error you're seeing is due to the same line being declared multiple times across included config files. Eg

exec --no-startup-id gnome-control-center

So, I assume you've added some of your own configuration files in ~/.config/regolith3/i3, and probably you have duplicate lines in there. You can also get i3 to tell you all the config files it's loaded with i3 --moreversion.

To resolve the error you'll need to find all the files that have duplicated lines and remove them, then restart i3.

None of these listed files have overlap, but when I inspect these directories, I found another file, /usr/share/regolith/i3/config.d/60_gnome_config_keybindings, and deleting this file removed the errors.

Unfortunately, I can no longer open the settings using hotkeys now. The deleted file overwrote my setting hotkey to use gnome-control-center instead of regolith-control-center. That has been corrected, but regolith-control-center fails to start on my system, even when called directly:

You can see from from the output of apt list that you have a pending update for regolith-control-center that should address the crash:

you may need to do an apt dist-upgrade if you've got held packages. Kindly review what apt will install/remove to ensure it makes sense for your system.
